Hi There!
I’m so glad you stopped by! My name is Beth Decker and I love teaching. I understand that it’s important to know about where potential teaching material comes from, so I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself. I had the privilege of being born to Joe and Denise Decker and, under their faithful teaching of God’s Word, I learned of my need for forgiveness and accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was five years old. My father was the assistant pastor and youth director at Grace Baptist Church for the first 14 years of my life. It was under his example that I began to learn how to teach God’s Word to young people.
When I was 15 years old, God called our family into full time evangelism. Summers were full of Bible schools and camps and I had many opportunities to put into practice what I had seen my parents do during their ministry at our church. My younger brother and I taught Bible lessons, operated puppets, ran games, made balloon animals (he was MUCH better at this than I was!), taught memory verses, sang songs, and so much more.
After high school, I enrolled at Heartland Baptist Bible College and pursued a four year degree in Christian Education. It was here that I built on the foundation already laid by my parents and church. I served in many capacities while at Heartland and most of them involved children’s ministries.
Upon graduating from Heartland, I returned to my home church and began working with our children’s ministry. This is where I have served for the past ten years. I belong to an Independent, Fundamental Baptist Church and all materials on this site align with Baptist distinctives and doctrines. I believe that the King James Version of the Bible is the inspired Word of God for English speaking people. This is the only version of the Bible you will find in Little Arrows publications.
It’s my desire that the material offered here can be used to help teach young people to love and serve God. The name "Little Arrows" was chosen as a reflection of that desire. Psalms 127:4 says, “As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.” Our responsibility is to point children to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Once they are saved, we must teach them God’s Word so that they can love and serve Him to the best of their ability. I believe that God has led me to a unique place in my life and allowed me to share what He’s given me from His Word. My prayer is that young people will be able to grow in their knowledge of who God is and how much He loves them. What a mighty God we serve!
